Why you don’t have to picket Constance McMillen’s Graduation
Dear Westboro Baptist Church:
It has recently come to my attention, thanks to a press release that you sent out, that you plan to protest the graduation of one Constance McMillen in order to, and here I quote:
“[We] will picket the graduation of Itawamba Agricultural High School to remind the parents, teachers and students of this nation that God said ‘Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind, it is abomination’.
“This generation has been raised to believe that they can live for the devil and still go to heaven, that God has no standards and the biggest lie of all – that God loves everyone.”
I am here to tell you that such a protest is actually completely unnecessary. First of all, as you yourselves have directly quoted, “God said ‘Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind, it is abomination’.” I am not sure you actually understand what a lesbian is, but just so we’re clear, a lesbian is a person who has decided that she will not lay with any man, whatsoever. Constance is a lesbian—she does not want to lie with any men. There is nothing in that passage that says that her choice is an abomination.
As to the other part of your reason to protest, to remind people that God does not love everyone, I think that view has been very well documented already:
I think the fact that Constance was sent to a fake prom pretty much already made her aware of her unpopularity in her own town, let along among people who live in a different state entirely.
But since we’re talking about reminders, I have to say that I’m a little concerned that maybe you’re in need of one. Your website is called God Hates Fags, but the Bible has quite a bit to say about hate:
Hate:
• Is Forbidden.
Leviticus 19:17: Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Colossians 3:8: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
• Is Murder.
John 3:15: Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
•Is a work of the flesh.
Galatians 5:20: Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies…
• Is often cloaked by deceit.
Proverbs 10:18: He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
Proverbs 26:26: Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
• Leads to deceit.
Proverbs 26:24-25: He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
• Stirs up strife.
Proverbs 10:12: Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
I’m deeply concerned that a) you are extrapolating from messages, reading into what was written in order to expand your realm of hatred (grouping lesbians in with homosexual men, as well as transgendered, bisexual, etc.) when clearly if the Bible is “universally considered to be the inerrant Word of God.” () then reading into it or adding to it might be, well, an error. Furthermore, since it is seen as inerrant, picking and choosing which passages to follow also seems, well, a mistake.
I feel as though your church may be giving people mixed messages, and a hateful protest against Constance, who has already been punished, and who is not specifically named in the bible as an abomination, may in fact be going against the bible. Which, I’m sure is not something a devoted congregation such as yourself would ever consider doing.
I’m sure you understand that I’m just trying to help.
Sincerely,
Even Tempered White Lady

Dear Constance:
I thought you might like to read passages from the Bible which are different than the hate-filled passages normally tossed your way:
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
(Matthew 5:43-47)
And this:
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
(Romans 13:8-10)
Remember, yours is a fight of love and for love, not hate.
With love,
Even Tempered White Lady
Even Tempered White Lady, you rock it hard.
And Constance is my hero. If she ever visits the UK, I’m gonna throw her a f**king parade and tell every one how amazing she is.
The way that girl, a CHILD has been treated makes me physically sick. But not ashamed to be human. Because I am Human. Constance is Human. The F*ckers who have abused her are not. So F*ck those people.
You rock Constance.
amen, nadine! and this here is angry black lady chronicles.
you can say FUCK and you can say it LOUD.
I knew this had to be posted by a white lady. Angry Black Lady might have been a bit concerned with this imaginary minority stuff, and upset to have lost Phelps to it. See, Reverand Phelps spent the 60s through the 80s defending civil rights, winning awards from the NAACP, and fighting for the separation of church and state. He almost single-handedly got rid of Jim Crow in Kansas, and the family was attacked and called “n—– lovers”: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps
Today, he acts the part of the “hysterical backwoods preachers, drooling with hate to a degree that looks both comical and deranged” that two gay men suggested in 1989 the media portray to make people sympathize with gays (After The Ball, pg. 189). Their gameplan was to make gay the new black, and the minority rights and sensitivity extended to african americans beginning in the 60s would be extended to white people who claim they are gay in the 90s. All they have to do is copy the Civil Rights Movement.
That’s why Constance got a 30 grand scholarship from Ellen, and Ricky Martin got a $20 million movie deal for coming out of the closet. That’s how Hollywood can be so white and call itself “diverse”: it’s gay! Ever wonder what Philip Devine was actually doing at the house where Teena Brandon was murdered? I’m afraid that story can’t be told, cause if it is, the whole innocent white lesbian one falls apart. According to After The Ball, pg. 184, a hate crime against a lesbian was needed because women draw more sympathy.
However, if you’re curious about the true story, here’s a good place to start: Tom Nissen actually attacked Teena Brandon because she tricked him out of bond money:
http://www.ncpa.ne.gov/ctopinio/S-95-996.htm or http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=NE&vol=sc/S-95-996&invol=1
STATE OF NEBRASKA, APPELLEE, V. THOMAS M. NISSEN, ALSO KNOWN AS MARVIN T. NISSEN, APPELLANT 252 NEB. 51, 560 N.W.2D 157
Paragraph beginning with “According to Hemmerling…” Teena Brandon said she had been assaulted because of a dispute over a bond that had been posted for her.
Paragraph beginning with “In the meantime, Caverzagie…” Tom Nissen tried to put her back in prison in exchange for return of the bond, but the police wouldn’t let him, so he assaulted Teena Brandon instead.
————————————————
The guys didn’t attack Teena over a crush on Lana. Another hint: Lana Tisdel sued Fox Searchlight because the movie portrayed her as a lesbian and portrayed her at the crime scene. In other words, she’s not a lesbian and, although Tom Nissen claimed she was at the crime scene, she says she wasn’t. In the movie, Philip Devine only enters the story as a notation at the end. In real life, he entered as Lana’s sister’s fiance, a drinking buddy to Tom and John. There’s a reason why he’s reduced to such a bit role (well, no role) in the movie. He was innocent of any wrong-doing, but victimized a second time by the media. Look into it, and maybe Angry Black Lady might let the gay community know that the murders of black men are too important to be buried under facts twisted in favor of their cause.
i need to see what’s making the comments get cut off. technical support is on the way! please stand by!
::elevator music::
Not sure why part of my sentences got cut off. Phelps was fighting FOR the separation of church and state. After The Ball was written by two GAY men. The rest of my statement seems to be there.
as previously discussed, people who see kangaroos in everything are kangaroos
